So, here is to some new life experience right?
I decided it was time for me to take a break from my every day life and do something different. Go to a place you have known for so  many years and start a build a life there for six months. Let me be honest with you guys, I see this as a huge challenge and I hope for God's sake that I will survive this.
For a while I thought what a picture would suit my current mode the most to add to this post. Then I found this one. It's a picture of my sister and I swinging on a playground in Ciglane which is a common known neighborhood in Sarajevo. In fact this picture resembles my first real meeting with Sarajevo and Bosnia in 1998. Now I don't remember a lot from this period of time, but I remember the excitement I had of meeting the country my family and I were from. I remember loving that dress on me (even though my short boyish haircut made stuff confusing for a lot of people) and I used to call it my 'Bosnian outfit'. Another thing I remember is that the streets of Sarajevo were full of soldiers, tanks and scars from the past war. It was a time where this city was in a very chaotic and vulnerable state and that was exactly the time I fell in love with this city; everything was real here and there was no sugarcoating.
Flash forward to 17 years later I am having this feeling of excitement again, but this time I'm meeting Sarajevo in a different light. Not for a family vacation, but for living the life of a local 'Sarajka'
I hope that in the upcoming months I will learn a lot and grow as a person and finally find my way in life. But I aso hope to have a lot of fun and enjoy my time here!
And of course I'm taking you on this journey with me, so cheers to that new life experience! I'm ready for you!

With love,
Amela
